Where D'Ya Put Yer Willy? - book review

‘Where D’Ya Put Yer Willy?’ is the debut novel from up-and-coming writer, Jeff Kristian. It is a comedy-drama of mystery, intrigue and songs, where things are not always as they seem.

Michael is a closeted gay man working in a straight bar in Southend-On-Sea, whose life is turned upside down when he is called to a reading of a will leaving him a vast amount of money from a Drag Queen he has met only once. The condition to get this money is that he must become a Drag Queen himself for six weeks. Not so easy when you have the Essex Mafia on your tail and two other Drag Queens baying for your blood.

‘Where D’Ya Put Yer Willy?’ is the first of two books, full of laugh-out-loud moments, witty one-liners, twists and turns. The characters are rounded and believable and, even when the action reaches breakneck speed, the humour is maintained and is something not seen before.

This is piping hot throughout with hilarity, involving séances, strange gardens, ice-cream vans, CCTV and strippers, and has many original songs peppering the pages, which will be on iTunes later this year. It is highly enjoyable and a rivetingly easy read, and with this kind of writing there is a big career ahead for the writer.

Not only is Jeff a novelist, he can also be seen performing his shows at Molly Moggs in SOHO in the heart of Londons West End. Jeff also appears as the resident singing Drag Queen on Celebrity Big Brother's Bit on the Side,
